There are currently 16 tapes in total, out of which 14 are hidden around the school. The 15th and 16th tapes can be found in two opposite corners of Ayano 's basement.
When walking up to a tape, the player can press E PC or A controller to pick up the tape, it will not show up in Ayano's inventory. The tapes can be played on the cassette player in the school's Computer Lab , located on the third floor in the West wing.
While a tape is playing, the left and right arrow keys are used to rewind or fast forward, E to pause, and Q to take the tape out of the player. When a tape is playing, time stands still. If there are parts of the story that can't be revealed by normal gameplay, more cassette tapes will be added to the game.
There are signal bars in the right top corner of Ayano's phone which indicate how close the player is to a tape. Five bars means the player is close to a tape; zero bars means that they are far from one.
The Basement Tapes are told from a third-person perspective, describing the relationship of Ryoba Aishi and her senpai. The player experiences flashes of the events that transpired in the house and must slowly piece together the history and the horrors while trying to stay alive.
The player can explore the house in first-person as details are slowly revealed to them. As they explore, they will be haunted and hunted by the ghostly entities of those who were killed or died in the home, and they have no weapons to use in their own defense. At the same time, if they spend too much time in darkness, like in Phasmophobia , their sanity will slowly slip away. During and after each chapter of the game, players may notice strange VHS Tapes scattered throughout the house.
Before you exit the room, be sure to stop and collect VHS Tape 6. Head inside the arcade, then venture off to the northeast corner.
To unlock and view this trailer, head to the Hawk Theater located in Downtown Hawkins. Inside the Hawk Theater, head through the lobby and over to the northern room with the screening theaters. Having trouble with some of the game's other collectibles? Morgan is a writer, indie game lover, and socially awkward coffee addict. Need something? Jeremy used to do design work. I guess that's how he knew it was there. The drawers have been emptied out. Someone was here. I don't think it was spring cleaning either.
No, there was plastic on the floor. Someone was definitely here during the night. It had to have been the client. I mean, they sent us that stuff in the first place with no explanation.
Told us to scan it. Said it would expedite the process so we wouldn't need to program any path finding ourselves. It was a budget things, I guess.
It was just junk- circuit boards and things like that. Looked pretty old. Somehow, though, there was usable code on some of it. It seemed to take hold by itself. Things started changing. But then, he started appearing. At least, that's what Jeremy said. I came in early that morning. No one else was there. At least, that's what I thought. The supply room was lit. I didn't even notice Jeremy standing in the testing room as I walked past.
The supply room was so bright - glowing from all the way down the hall. Jeremy complained of nightmares when he came in this morning.
He wasn't talking about it like someone telling a friend about his dreams, though. He was pale. Looked like he hadn't eaten in days. He spent an hour talking in Dale's office. But it didn't look like he was given much sympathy. When he came out, he went directly back to the testing room. He doesn't even jump anymore. Nothing scares him. He just stands there like he's talking to someone. Sometimes he rocks from side to side. We were told to leave him alone. I knew I was in line to do the testing next.
They'd been prepping me for it. I guess they knew that Jeremy would need to be replaced soon. You can always tell when a company is getting ready to fire someone.
